1 Hard Drive
-- Seagate Barracuda
-- 7,200 rpm / 250 gig

I just bought a 2nd hard drive
Specs
Western Digital -Raptor X
Model WD1500AHFD
Interface SATA 1.5Gb/s - 150GB
RPM 10,000 - Cache 16MB
I have plenty of sata ports on my mobo and physical connection of hard drive is straightforward.
What is the best path to follow so the Raptor hard drive(new one) becomes my C: drive(Operating system on this) and the Seagate(original one) becomes the D:

can i
1) remove existing seagate drive
2) install raptor drive in its place
3) do a fresh install of operating system
4) then after o/s and drivers are loaded on the raptor, then hook up the 2nd drive
Will I have to reformat the 2nd drive if i shift it from C: to D:?
Question about adding a 2nd drive and making it the primary?
The easiest way to do this is:
1. Remove old hard drive.
2. Install the Raptor and install Windows on it.
3. After Windows has been installed and stable, connect the second hard drive.
4. Make sure that the Raptor is the first boot device in the BIOS.
5. The old drive should show up as the next drive letter after C: and all of your optical drives - you can change drive letters in Computer Management.
You don't need to format the old drive. It will show up as a second hard drive.
