Some rat stole my Sebring 2001 LXI coupe Infinity factory stereo amp from under the front seat. (2) harness's still intact. I do not want to pay the price for a factory replacement ($700)..so what can I do ? Can you suggest an inexpensive amp replacement and any inter connections needed ?
Pacific Accessory Corp recommends a P A C AOEM-CHR interface kit (they say no changes necessary) and most advocates recommend several popular brand after market amps (height consideration under seat). Do you concur ?
By the way, is the Infinity system a 2 or 4 channel system and is it 2 ohm ?
Replace Sebring 2001 factory infinity amp with aftermarket?
AOEM-CHR for 2002 and up only and requires factory amplifier
your infinity system is a 6 channels or 8 channles read on the door infinity logo , no aftermarquet radio is going to power all 6 speakers
and yes the speakers are 2 ohms
you can find the amplifier with warranty from oemautosound
and you can keep the factory radio and cd changer
if you replace the radio all the speaker need to be replace
Reply:I had the same car but a 2000 and it was stolen and that was one of the things that were never recovered. I got a new one from the junk yard for $20.00 call in advance and check to see if they have one. If your Harness is still intact then you can install it yourself in 5 minuites. If that is not an option because the junk yard doesn't have your part then ANy CD Head Unit will do. Honestly their all pretty much the same just look to see the watte it puts out more watts louder the stereo will go.
Reply:well i think that you shood just upgrade all the way dude mightest well for seven hundred you might be able to get a aftermarket stereo and amp and maybe some new speakers if you want plus it would be alot more easier to install. It probably is a 4 channel cuz i think it just amps up the speakers unless you have a sub as far as the height consideration under seat). Do you concur ? i do some fit others dont but if your thinking of getting a aftermarket stereo you will need an amp kit to wire it up the pac oem interface might be your best bet if your thinking of getting a stock one but best of luck to you in the end its your decision good luck
