Professional Photographers Please..... What photo editing software do you use for your touch-ups?

I want to be able to make my photos look really good...I am really good at taking photos but I am not a professional photographer by any means...I am always so impressed with the quality of photos pros use and so I wanted to know what software programs do you use to perform your:

a) Enhancements - I want a program capable of augmenting body parts... I'm not saying I am doing this currently but I definetly want something which is capable

b) Quality Air Brushing

c) User Friendly Interface Platform

***What do you think of Adobe's products?***

Professional Photographers Please..... What photo editing software do you use for your touch-ups?
I'm still in high school, but i work for a pro-photographer on the corporate level, and we use Photoshop CS2, but I have CS3 master collection on my home computer and I love it. I do all my graphic school projects in Photoshop and I've never gotte nanything less then an A because I can do so much. Back to the corporate level, we did a graduation picture for John's Hopkins University last summer and we brought the picture in and ran multiple filters and enhancments on it before running sending it to the printer. Photoshop allows you to cut objects out of Photos and distort them and I don't know if you've ever sued layers, but once you've sued them you can't live without them. Photoshop CS3 all the way for editing. Hope this helps!
Reply:Photoshop CS2 or 3 are the industry standards. They are expensive though $600.00 and is overkill for most people.

I would also look at Photoshop Elements 6. It will do most of the editing that the full version will do and costs less than $100.

Most professional photographs do not look that way because the photographer spent hours in Photoshop fixing them. They look good because they did the prep work and got it right in the camera.
Reply:I use Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe Photoshop CS3.... as the other answerer said.. Photoshop Elements 6.0 would be suitable for a non professional, and much less costly.
