i find java not so attractive. reducing everything to classes, interfaces %26amp; etc are very uneligant. compared to c, perl, vb, java sucks.
what do others think?
Is java a good language?
Don't know much about coding in it, but i can tell you java-based programs are slow, buggy, and usually ugly. C++ or Perl make neater, cleaner interfaces.
Reply:NO java is good Language which having more
Security when we r developing internet application like on-line banking that time java is the best language to provide more security. It is very efficient language.
TRY to be a java programmer.
then u will understantd good things in java language.
Reply:The language used is really dependant on the use of the language.
Websites : PHP, .NET, PERL
MEdia: FLASH, Action Sciprt
Embedded systems: C
Embedded Systems Interfaces: Java
Server Apps (Unix etc) C++, PERL
NEtwrok Apps: C++, PERL
Interactive Web Maps etc: Java Script
Reply:I think C# is better, but they're basically the same thing.
it's just another tool that you should become famaliar with if you want to become a better programmer. Not to say it is the best solution for everything, but it's just a tool that if you master, can probably help you solve some problems better then knowing just C, Perl or VB. Also knowing it or (C#) will help your programming skills in other languages
Reply:"reducing everything to classes" is not a reduction :)
think that you can construct a mirror of real world with java classes.
Reply:I can see you have not yet become a true programmer ;)
I also imagine you haven't actually done any enterprise systems, where Java is very common today. In other words: Java does not suck.
As others have already said, the choice of language doesnt really matter, as long as its not listed in the esoteric programming languages wikipedia page I am sure its mostly fine:
